In my continual development of this puny site, I've produced another major update for it over the past year from little things I've learned. Functionally it’s the same, just polished to a sheen, and a frame work's been added for some future updates. Included in this updated is better mobile devices support, better flash-less web browsing support, the site is now 50% faster to render, cut the download size in half, and added some further usability ques.

Portfolio selection remains mostly unchanged (newer release of "The City" is all that's changed) as I can’t really display anything I've been working on and my completed work out side of my job's been near null over the past year.

It’s funny looking back at my college flash projects these days. I was just starting to dabble in AS3 programing this time last year, having used AS2 exclusively all thought college, in anticipation of any flash development environment would mandate its use over AS2 which I was far more accustomed to. Over this past year I have dramtickly cleaned up my coding habits, and tremendously increased rendering performance through avoiding know known performance bottle necks and taking advantage of library’s like GreenSock. It’s actually a little embarrassing opening up my old projects to see how messy everything is and how sluggish some of them are. I’m working up a complete rewrite of an old project to showcase, to myself mostly, the improvements I’ve made, but also am contemplating working up something completely new for the portfolio. (perhaps a new game engine with online game play?)

Admittingly i wouldn't have come this far with out hte help of my Coworkers who have been tremendously useful in learning AS3.

Over the past two months I have learned more about HTML than I knew in total beforehand and had a wonderful chance to practice and explore it in the forum of re-factoring my portfolio site! It’s been tremendously optimized compared to MK2 (even if there's more to go), a lot less bloat code and it finally has proper support for smartphones and tablets!

I have also updated the portfolio work section a bit with some re arrangement of persistent works, updates to both of my flash features (speed improvements), and the swapping out of a (mostly) unrelated photo in favor of a concept art work I produced for Journey of The Spark.

As with all learning experiences, I have a 200 line long list of things I would like to change/update/fix but at some point you have to give it a break and see what happens. I hope that people find it more inviting, and easy to use!

It's been strange, fun and weird all at once. nice not having classes, strange not having classes, fun being able to just DO stuff, weird when your parents are suddenly gun-ho about you getting a job.

Anyway, there's some new stuff coming to this account soon, will be posting stuff from my final semester including my Senior Thesis. I'm hoping everyone enjoys them as so far they have been my favorite things I've made at college. The freedom of the last semester's classes was a sheer joy.

Oh, I'm also finalizing my portfolio site so i will have that to release soon.
