Waxing Blood Moon

Despite the thorough cloud cover last Sunday where i live, I was able to score a clear view of the Blood Moon for a few hours. Outside of enjoying the wonderful night, I decided to try my hand again at astrophotography on the easiest target around, and it didn’t turn out too bad. I ran into a lot of problems accounting for motion, the moon moves really fast across the night sky, so i couldn't push exposure times as long as i would have liked, instead having to up the gain...

This is a composite of 12 exposures, processed in Adobe Camera RAW, aligned and mixed in Photoshop. The refraction below the moon is a remnant from the longer exposures and i kind of liked it.
